Retail Therapy
I had a crazy day at work yesterday, so after dinner Andrew took me to Target and the mall. We went to Target originally to find a waffle maker, but I ended up buying nail polish. I was originally looking for Essie Haute as Hello, Turquoise and Caicos, and A Crewed Interest, (all good spring colors), but I ended up getting Pink-A-Boo from the new spring collection, and Mochacino.

I haven’t tried out Mochacino yet, but Pink-A-Boo is soo pretty. It’s a pale, sheer pink with iridescent sparkles. It’s a super delicate, girly color. I love it. Mochacino is taupey grey color with silver sparkles.

After Target, we went to the mall because I wanted to find a pair of coral colored pants, mainly because I love coral, and I saw Kate Middleton wearing a pair of coral jeans. I prefer colored khakis to jeans, and luckily, Gap had a great pair that fit perfectly. Andrew found a navy and white striped tee for me while I was trying on the pants, and even though I have tons of stripes in my closet, I had to get it because it was on sale for only $11. I wore both of those today paired with my navy J.Crew Jackie cardigan and over-sized gold boyfriend watch from Target that I bought last weekend. Since it’s the weekend, I didn’t wear a whole lot of jewelry or accessorize too much. I tend to dress pretty minimally on the weekends. Note to self: I need to buy a new pair of Sperry’s. I’ve had this pair for about 3 years, and they’re starting to get a little ratty.

I’m still on the lookout for those other Essie colors (pretty sure I can get them at Walgreens), but I told myself I wouldn’t buy any more nail polish until next month.
I think we’re going to go see the Hunger Games tomorrow. I’m so excited!

BBC Language Lessons
http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/
The BBC offers several 12-week beginner level language courses online for free. I took Spanish for 5 semesters in college, but I’ve always wanted to learn German. These look like they would be really useful to complete right before a trip to Europe. Now let’s see if I can actually stick with it for 3 months….

Currently Reading: ‘Backseat Saints’ by Joshilyn Jackson
From Amazon: “Rose Mae Lolley’s mother disappeared when she was eight, leaving Rose with a heap of old novels and a taste for dangerous men. Now, as demure Mrs. Ro Grandee, she’s living the very life her mother abandoned. She’s all but forgotten the girl she used to be-teenaged spitfire, Alabama heartbreaker, and a crack shot with a pistol-until an airport gypsy warns Rose it’s time to find her way back to that brave, tough girl … or else. Armed with only her wit, her pawpy’s ancient .45, and her dog Fat Gretel, Rose Mae hightails it out of Texas, running from a man who will never let her go, on a mission to find the mother who did.”
My thoughts: This book was ok. I enjoyed Joshilyn Jackson’s writing style, and I felt she developed Rose Mae’s character and emotional growth successfully throughout the novel. However, I felt the plot was too disjointed sometimes. I was often left wondering why certain characters acted the way they did, and the end of the story was wrapped up way too conveniently. After a suspenseful adventure, I expected an exciting and emotional ending. But it just sort of wrapped itself up in a nice, neat little package. I’d classify this book as a good summer beach read, but don’t go looking for anything too substantial here.

I bought a shirt from Target today and I just noticed it has a tiny stain on it. That’s like, the worst. Grrrr.
